GetMyLAN

(HTTPS/SSL VPN)

The GetMyLAN client creates a sandbox for all Internet programs such as your browser, your email client, etc. The sandbox makes all Internet programs behave as they are part of the network where the BarracudaDrive server is installed.

The physical network you are connected to, such as a WiFi hotspot, is only used as a carrier for the encrypted data sent between your remote computer and the network where BarracudaDrive is running. You are completely shielded from the network where the remote computer is operating. GetMyLAN provides an encrypted tunnel similar to a VPN solution with the exception that GetMyLAN can easily bypass restrictive firewalls and/or proxies.

GetMyLAN is the combination of a product called Proxifier and our new high speed MxTunnel. Proxifier and the MxTunnel will eventually be integrated into one product. This product is under development and currently not available; thus you must install the two programs separately and then configure Proxifier to use the MxTunnel.

Installation and configuration instructions:

1. Download and install the MxTunnel
2. Connect the MxTunnel to a BarracudaDrive server
3. Download and install Proxifier
4. Start Proxifier and open Proxifier's Proxy Server Settings
5. In the Proxy Server Settings dialog, click "Add..."
6. Set the server address to: localhost
7. Set the port to: 1080
8. Click "Socks Version 5"
9. Click "OK"

On the Proxifier menu, click the "Name Resolution" button. Check "Resolve hostname through proxy" and click "OK".
